The history of Maison François Martenot dates back to the beginning of the 20th century when Lucien Gustave Martenot acquired the10 ha Domaine in Savigny-les-Beaune that had been created in 1859 by Léonce Bocquet, then sole owner of the Château du Clos Vougeot. Since then Martenot has extended its activities through Burgundy and Beaujolais to the Rhone and Languedoc.
François Martenot:
Martenot produces, under the J.C. Beauvoir label, a range of six quality varietal wines from Languedoc. Carefully vinified, each of them perfectly reflects the the true character of the grape with an undeniable modern, French identity.
The wines are noteworthy for their up-front fruity expression and intensity. All are unoaked and suitable for vegetarians.
